The slit-mouthed woman is provoked into a blind rage, which allows Mai to easily predict her movements. Using a combination of counter and high attacks—Mai is able to successfully dealt a killing blow through ‘critical attack’. After the crushing defeat, Mai is able to acquire the slit-mouthed woman as her familiar, naming her Amelie. Her beginner level jumps from 1 to 25, she acquires Naomi Suzuki’s legs back and gains the nickname of ‘noteworthy newbie‘. Another hint of partial amnesia given by Asagi when he calls out to Mai with “You really don’t remember me?”
