This book was free for Amazon Prime members and I have to be honest when I say that neither the cover nor the summary was enough to grab me. It was when I started reading chapter one that I found myself deeply immersed in the book and was not able to put it down until it was finished.

Settings

The story begins in Ho Chi Minh City but takes place mostly in the Fowl Manor in some undisclosed location of Ireland.

Characters

The characters weren’t skimmed over one bit. Each character had its own life or story to tell and much added detail was put into other races of ‘faeries’.

For example, one of the characters is named Mulch Diggins, a kleptomaniac dwarf that specializes in digging. Mulch Diggins just doesn’t get thrown into our faces, we are introduced to his race, bullies and we are even shown into the mind of Mulch Diggins without dragging on or disrupting the main scene.

Artemis Fowl, a 12-year old criminal mastermind:
